    OOOOH THAT SONG BY IZ. is an AMAZINGGGG SONG!! I LOVE IT! Me and I. used to listen to it everyyyy night when i would rock him to sleep. and when that songs comes on now on the CD changer, i look at him and he grins, and sometimes we’ll dance together, or i’ll hold him in my lap. ooooh this made me SMILEEEEE. 9. tearsofmine says:

  13. Galen says:

    Amy, you really do seem to have some superb unplanned patterns there! or, there is that other possibility (or one of them), which if I were to ask might sound like:

    R yew trine to mix me (yup)?
    ↨▬↑↓↑↨▬↨
    shut my eyes? give a man directions?
    (cough, cough)

    now, if i remember what i thought
    i wanted to make wish-threat deal
    for good ♣ (luck?) if you need it
    in finding that (an, the) article
    not verticle (spelled? wrong!)
    for eke-ON, class, projecting!
    (learn to make ti-me-mo-ney ≈∞)
    may we always have no-paris! 😀

  14. Amy says:

    Yes. I’m trying to mix you up. 😛

    Honestly, I have no clue how I come up with those silly patterns.

    Thanks for the ♣… I did find the article, and have already written the paper. Except I made a mistake (good thing I had Mom read it) and am now on the computer to fix it and reprint it.

    Then I have to study for my Geography test, which is Thursday. Ugh. I REALLY don’t want to study. Psh. I think I’m going to reward myself, though… If I get on the ball and do my studying, and get it done before 9, I’m going to watch “The Biggest Loser.” So. That’s my goal.

    I better get working on it.

  19. tearsofmine says:

    ooooh STEVIE WONDER!! Superstitious is my all time FAVORITE song he does!!!! hurrah! how do you know these things???

    hmm…there was a song i was thinking of that i was thinking you should find and put on here…but i have since forgotten…it will come back to me later, and i will remind myself and you. 😉

  20. tearsofmine says:

    who sings the song by Astrud Gilberto?? i loveee it. i could just listen to it over and over again.

    i want to watch Breakfast at Tiffany’s…but i cannot find it….i think i borrowed it out to someone, and they didn’t return it….oh well, i will keep looking….

  21. tearsofmine says:

    The song that Astrud Gilberto sings is called Girl from Ipanema right?….and no i didnt figure it out alone…i had help. *smile

  22. tearsofmine says:

    Tall and tan and lovely,
    The girl from Ipanema goes walking,
    And when she passes,
    Each one she passes goes “ahh!”

    When she walks she’s like a samba
    That swing so cool and sways so gentle,
    That when she passes,
    Each one she passes goes “ahh!”

    Oh, but I watch her so sadly,
    How can I tell her I love Her?
    Yes, I would give my heart gladly.
    But each day when she walks to sea,
    She looks straight ahead not at me.

    Tall and tan and young and lovely,
    The girl from Ipanema goes walking,
    And when she passes I smile, but she doesn’t see.

    She just doesn’t see.
    No she doesn’t see.

    *beams…i think i have found a new song i adore

  23. tearsofmine says:

    i am sitting here listening to more of Astrud’s music….and its so amazing…so soothing….good thing the kids are away in bed…we’d all be up dancing….and i’m too tired to dance right now. hahaha.

    i’m glad the kids will have a rounded sense of music due to me & their dad’s tastes. *smiles

  24. Galen says:

    now look at the top player in “Not Of Today” where I have inserted the aforementioned KT Tunstall number… 😉 what a weird team we have!

    Okay, that was Stan Getz and the two Gilbertos doing that song, and she is the thing that makes it work on top of all that smooth jazzy instrumental stuff. Without some kind of visual image (inside our non-illuminated skulls) we just do not get “into” the song.

    Well, at least I never can get all that excited about something completely unknown (unless I want to be afraid of it, maybe).

    You can always have several and many favorites, in most cases! That’s what I say, anyway!!!
    ♥ 🙂 ♥

  25. tearsofmine says:

    i left a comment on that page where you posted KT. 😛 ♥

  26. tearsofmine says:

    man that song by Astrud…i just loveeee it!!! ♥♥♥♥

  27. Amy says:

    Random ? here…….. …………………………. ………………..

    What’s your favorite hymn?
    (It’s not TOO random, since the title of this entry IS hymn. :-P)

    @A@

  28. Galen says:

    only one? how about either of these (only one verse each):

    Blest be the tie that binds
    Our hearts in Christian love;
    The fellowship of kindred minds
    Is like to that above.

    (from wikipedia)

    Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
    Praise Him, all creatures here below;
    Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
    Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

    (from cyberhymnal)

    you expect me to have just one favorite? surely you jest!
    😉

    that looks like “white noise” there, what you typed!
    is it?
    ♥♥♥
    –g

  29. Amy says:

    First I would have to know what “white noise” is to be able to type it, now wouldn’t I? 😛

    Those are two very good songs. So what are your other “favorites”?

  30. Galen says:

    At this moment (12:15 PM 10/26/2007) nothing is shouting at me so maybe i’ll have to answer this later if we do not get off onto something else. Songs turn into hymns over time anyway (like those two did, or one of them at least, had to be sung in secret at first) so maybe something a lot newer will strike my currently missing memory circuits.

    If I have any circuits, that is. They might all be just one-way dead-end streetcar lines (not necessarily named as desired). It just may turn out that all my indirect references have been left behind, right? 😉

    White noise sounds rather like a mild hissing sound, more sharply so than “pink” noise, which really sounds muffled. It is a major component of sounds like rushing water or the breeze (but not the howling wind).

    One of my encyclopedia volumes is missing. Have you seen it? (warning: this is a trick question!)

    You better come up with some of your own favorites, if you know what’s good for me, y’hear?
    ♪♫♥♥
    –g

  31. Amy says:

    Then, no, it wasn’t white noise. It was blue noise. 😉

    And all my circuits got burned up in the never-ending fire in my head. Ooooo. lol.

    What’s the trick in the question, so I can get the correct answer? 😉 Nah, I haven’t seen it. But have I scene it? 😛

    OK… favorites of mine include: {I’ll give you first verses and choruses.}

    God Will Take Care of You
    Be not dismayed whate’er betide,
    God will take care of you;
    Beneath His wings of love abide,
    God will take care of you.

    Refrain

    God will take care of you,
    Through every day, over all the way;
    He will take care of you,
    God will take care of you.

    There’s a story behind that one… when I was born, I was really really sick, and had to stay in the hospital for quite a while. My mom told me that she would stand over my incubator and sing that song to me.

    The Fight Is On
    The fight is on, the trumpet sound is ringing out,
    The cry “To arms!” is heard afar and near;
    The Lord of hosts is marching on to victory,
    The triumph of the Christ will soon appear.

    Refrain

    The fight is on, O Christian soldier,
    And face to face in stern array,
    With armor gleaming, and colors streaming,
    The right and wrong engage today!
    The fight is on, but be not weary;
    Be strong, and in His might hold fast;
    If God be for us, His banner o’er us,
    We’ll sing the victor’s song at last!

    Sing On Ye Joyful Pilgrims –> http://www.paperlesshymnal.com/tph/free/vol4/Sing_On.ppt#264,1,1 – Sing On

    Um… I’m sure there are many more, but my brain is getting tired, and I don’t want to take up half your screen or more, so I’ll stop. 😛

    $#”!”#$

  32. Amy says:

    By the way, Sophocles wrote Oedipus the King and Antigone. The writer of Lysistrata was Aristophines (I hope I spelled that correctly). Thanks for setting me straight on that.

  33. Galen says:

    oh, you know, we’re using english letters anyway, so tomato, tomAHto, or phanes, phines, it’s all greek to me! 🙂

    if it’s possible to be straight with anything from me, you’re entirely always welcome!

    thanks (to you at least) for that pointer to the paperlesshymnal, so far it is waiting to distract me from whatever else it is that i am trying to do now (10:54 PM 10/26/2007) as the possibilities far outnumber my energy level. sometimes i wonder why nobody ever invented a dance called “the dwindle” just so i’d know it already. ;=)

    oh, did you ever call for someone who wasn’t listening and then find out they were answering when you also weren’t listening? it happened again, just now, this very minute (a while ago, actually)!!!

    okay, i’m trying to confuse myself, and it is soooo not working! 😉 ♥ more, later, maybe…
